Blue Jean-ius My Favorite Riding Jeans

Jeans are hard! How many times have we all gone into the dressing room with 10-15 pairs of jeans in a variety of styles, fits, washes and sizes only to come out hot, frustrated and empty-handed?! This seems to be the norm for me whenever I try and find western riding jeans.

I have tried them all and they leave something to be desired, many are made from thick, non-stretchy denim, with weird low cut rises (some are high in the back but for some reason dip down low in the front, which hello denim designers who are probably men, women want a little smoothing coverage around their belly), and more often than not have hideous, tacky washes, stitching and pocket details. No thank you I do not want to look like a Florida Georgia Line groupie. I sometimes wonder if anyone actually tries these jeans on before they put them into production.

I guess after years of wearing, trying and buying non-riding designer denim I have come to expect more from my denim. Is it too much to ask for amazing cuts, washes, styles and fabrics that are elegant and classy. Companies that spend hours with fit models to get the fit just right as well as make your legs look long and elegant and the perfect placement of back pockets to make your bum look perfect.

So when Ariat, Wrangler, Cinch, Cruel Girl, Kimes and others that were so bad they don’t even justify a mention let me down I started searching my favorite non-western denim brands for jeans that would work to ride in. My list of criteria included denim made from soft-stretchy but still durable fabric, mid to higher rise in the front and back, long leg lengths (nothing worse than jeans that are too short in the saddle) and a moderate bootcut to fit over my cowboy boots. After a few tries I was thrilled to discover my perfect riding jeans in the Kimmie Bootcut from 7 for all mankind. The Kimmie Bootcut is a modern mid-rise (9in) bootcut jean that features a contoured waist for a snug fit and a slim, leg-elongating silhouette. They are crafted in 7’s signature 9 oz. stretch denim that slims and sculpts for a flattering look and not a tacky wash or stitching detail to be seen. The pocket placement in the back as well as the sculpted fit that 7 is known for makes for the perfect looking bum too!

Would you expect anything less from the company that actually put designer denim on the map and made it all the rage? All these years later they are still creating perfect jeans, even for riding horses. Available online at 7forallmankind.com.
