Hi.

I am a former women’s clothing store owner turned full-time rider and writer. Follow along as I share everything I love about horses, style and beauty. I am also an obsessed Royal Watcher and Denver Broncos Fan.

Odds & Ends

Odds & Ends

I can’t believe Christmas is almost here and instead of tackling everything on my holiday to-do list, I am sitting on the sofa watching Hallmark movies with a Back On Track wrap on my leg because I seriously pulled a muscle bending down to re-fill my dog’s water dish. (insert eye roll here).

Wrapping up the end of the month with a few odds and ends that have piqued my interest and received my seal of approval. Enjoy!

We all work hard to keep our horses healthy and sound and the two studies detailed in these articles give a little insight into how we can do that. Should we wrap or not and another benefit of daily turnout, new studies show boots and wraps put tendons at heat risk and turnout time can reduce horses’ risk of soft tissue injuries.

On the fashion front, sneakers reign supreme and Nike Air Force 1 and New Balance 327 have captured the attention of the fashionistas. They both come in a variety of fun color combos as well as clean, neutral colors. I can’t decide which pair to get, but am leaning towards the New Balance pair.

I am obsessed with the Amika Soulfood Nourishing Hair Mask. I used it on my horses’ manes and tails last week and it made their hair so soft and shiny. Their tails stayed silky soft for an entire week, which is unheard of in the winter time when dry, brittle hair and static reign supreme. I even used it on my dogs and it made them soft and shiny. It smells amazing and works wonders. Oh and you can use it on your hair too.

Honest’s Eczema Cream and Eczema Balm have been in regular rotation to help soothe my parched hands. It also smoothes dry knees, elbows and heels. And it is clean and free of toxic ingredients.

All your other winter jackets will be jealous of this Holographic Motion Jacket that gives off major unicorn vibes. It features an asymmetrical zipper and stretchy panels on the sides and shoulders to give full range of motion as well as being waterproof.

This Pumpkin Spice Granola recipe has been on repeat at my house ever since I discovered it and it has fueled my pre-holiday frenzy and long days at the barn. I add a handful of dark chocolate chips or chocolate covered cashews for an extra kick of yum.

My horses are getting a wide variety of new treats for Christmas this year as well as a whole lot of candy canes.
