My Conversation With Shooter Via An Animal Communicator
I still have goose bumps as I write this! Last night I used animal communicator Joanna Bornowski of The Wild Thread to communicate with Shooter and it was truly amazing and enlightening. I have always wanted to try this after hearing so many great stories about others doing this with their horses and finally did it and plan to do it with all my horses.
First things first, how does it work? She had me email her a picture showing his face, eyes and facial markings as well as 3-4 questions I wanted her to ask him, as well as if I had a message I wanted her to give him. I submitted all this and then she called at my scheduled time and introduced herself and then asked Shooter if he wanted to join the conversation (which he did, he never passes up an opportunity) and then she listened to him as he communicated and showed her different images, then she asked him some of my questions. We also talked about a strange occurrence that happened in the barn the other night (more to follow on that). She really knew things about him that she wouldn’t have known if she hadn’t actually communicated with him. It was freaky and oh so cool!
Here are some of the things and images he showed and told her:
He told her he was the lookout, most watchful, very curious and likes being the first horse to be seen (he is in the first stall in the barn and is always greeted first).
He showed her images of us walking up and down the barn aisle, sweeping and carrying hay and told us we can let him loose and he can help us and walk around the barn aisle. He said he was clever, playful and engaged.
He showed her an image of licking my hand (which he does all the time and she wouldn’t have known) and said he loves me very much (cue the the tears). He loves that I allow him to be who he is, seen and accepted.
She said he showed her an image of a reining horse doing a sliding stop and said he was sorry he couldn’t do that because his legs are too long. (Freaky because we have a reining horse, who he rides with all the time and we have even joked that Shooter’s legs are too long to slide and spin.)
He then showed her an image of him cantering with his head low in an English saddle and said he knows how to be present and professional and that he listen to aids well. He said we used to go to shows but we relax and have more fun now.
He said we keep the barn clean and nice and quiet but showed her a sand arena and said he wants to roll there. He told her he is not fuzzy and gets cold sometimes and might need more blankets but then said he doesn’t really like wearing blankets.
When asked about his feet (which we have had issues with in the past and changed farriers about 6 month ago) he showed her clean polished feet and said they were good, better now. He then showed her his right front foot and up to the shoulder and she asked if he had an injury there. Which he did as a weanling and has a scar and doesn’t like the foot and shoulder twisted much. He then showed her some therapeutic bell boots (which we have and he wears, which she would not have known) and said he likes them and they help.
He said he is the biggest horse in the barn (he is) and has the best personality but fits in well with the other horses. She then asked if we have a mare in the barn (which we do) and he said he thinks she is pretty (light colored mare) but that she doesn’t like him and gives him the death stare but he loves her.
He said it would be fun to go to a horse show again but just for fun, no serious showing anymore. He feels like he ended his show career on a good note and does not really miss it. He loves riding and entertaining me, feels good and likes the shorter rides we do now.
He said his purpose in life is to make me laugh (more tears) and is very playful (showed her images of him shaking a bag of carrots, which he gets carrots all the time and plays with the bag). He said he needs more toys. (He is very mouthy and loves to play with anything you give him) He said our connection is his purpose also and for me to look at him and see his soul.
When asked why he pacing sometimes during turnout he said he feels safer in the barn and showed her an image of him in his stall looking out his window. He doesn’t like going out in windy weather and doesn’t like what he can’t see behind the pen (showed her an image of behind the pens, which has tall grass and he can’t see the other side, she wouldn’t have known that).
He said this is his favorite place to live and showed an image of him putting his nose to my cheek (which he does every day). He said he loves me very much and showed her a heart and said he was my Valentine (which she laughed about because she never had a horse say that before). He was probably remembering when I did a Valentine photo shoot with him and Dreamer.
And then “the incident”. A few nights ago Garrett came in from the evening barn check and he looked rattled. He said he was standing in front of Shooter’s stall scratching him when out of the corner of his eye he saw a white cat like thing (apparition) jump up on the side of Shooter’s stall. He almost didn’t believe what he saw until Shooter also jumped sideways and stated snorting and staring at the stall wall where the apparition was. Upon inspection there was nothing there but they both apparently saw something. We have two barn cats but they sleep in the heated office at night and Garrett knew for a fact they were both in there, not loose in the barn. She asked Shooter about it and he showed her an image of white bird/bat and him kicking out at it. He said he does not like it and it comes from an empty space across from him and moves along between the empty space next to him (which is the side where they saw it jump up). He showed her it moving from space to space (she described our barn perfectly based on Shooter’s images) and even though it looks like a bird she said it was moving more like a cat. He said he doesn’t like it and hasn’t spoken to it. He said he has seen it before and does not enjoy it. She advised setting some black obsidian around to help protect the area.
It was a really amazing experience and something I want to do again! If you have ever wanted to communicate with your horse I would highly recommend using Joanna, she was remarkable!
