Hi.

Kroop's Sunglasses

Kroop's Sunglasses

We’ve all been there, in the middle of a long ride or a hard lesson and the sweat makes your sunglasses start slipping down your face. Your hands are too busy to reach up and re-adjust them so you struggle with ignoring the glasses or keeping your attention on your horse.

Leave it to equestrians to fix that very problem and create glasses meant to perform perfectly in the saddle and on your face. And did I mention, they look good too!

Kroop’s has been in the business of making eyewear for some of the world’s best jockeys for 70 years and they have really learned how to see the world from a saddle. Their goal is to craft eyewear that is comfortable, durable and performance-enhancing from the stable to the track to the trail. All of their glasses are ride tested to make sure they provide everything equestrians need in the saddle.

Sungless are super essential for riders because they protect our eyes in so many ways, from dust and dirt, scratches, impact and dangerous UV rays. Sunglasses (along with a mug of water and sunscreen) are one of my main must-take to the barn items. We live in Oklahoma and we have so much wind that you would be crazy to ride or work horses outside in the dust without eye protection.

I am wearing the Cheyenne style.

All Kroop’s Sunglasses offer 100% UV protection, glare reduction and have premium lenses with ANSI Z87.1 impact resistance. This is a really cool certification that tests impact resistance with the Drop Ball Impact Test. This test involves dropping a 68g steel ball from a height of approximately 50 inches. This low-impact is similar to being hit with a golf ball tossed at your eye from a few feet away (ouch). To pass this test, glasses cannot shatter or break under the pressure of the impact.

They are also super-lightweight, designed for comfort and to reduce fatigue. They also know how important durability is when it comes to something that can withstand the rigors of being used in a barn. Their frames are tough yet flexible and the lenses are strong and scratch resistant. They also feature (my favorite part) non-slip pads to ensure a secure fit that hold them in place while riding and sweating. No more reaching up to adjust them!

Garrett is wearing the Kroop’s Houston sunglasses.

Kroop’s Sunglasses come in a variety of really cool styles and are priced at $85 and $95 (based on style). Our two styles have gorgeous intricate metalwork on the sides that echo silver belt buckles and cute horse shoe details. I am wearing the Cheyenne and Garrett is wearing the Houston. We are huge fans and I want to add another to my collection. You can order them online at Kroops.com.

PS This post is not an ad, we are just big fans. I bought our sunglasses for Christmas presents, one for me and one for Garrett.
