Beauty and The Beast: Doctor Rogers Restore and E3 Elite Equine Evolution

This Beauty and The Beast post focuses on two of my favorite companies, one for me and one for my horses. Both do a tremendous job helping me and my horses look our best.

I exclusively use clean beauty products and started this after a major health scare had me question the sheer amount of toxic chemicals we put in and on our bodies. So after a lot of research I began detoxing all of my beauty products and only use products that do not contain potentially harmful ingredients. One of the first clean companies I came upon was Dr Roger’s Restore which was developed by a dermatologist who wanted to make a cleaner healing balm than vaseline or aquaphor which contain petroleum by-products. Products made with petroleum by-products can be contaminated with carcinogens (cancer causing ingredients) and quite frankly don’t belong in anything you slather on your skin.

So she created her first product the Healing Balm and this is a true jack of all trades, you can use it to moisturize dry skin, lips, nails, cuticles, tame fly aways and eyebrows and help heal stitches, burn, cuts, scrapes. I reach for this more times than I can count and is a true must-have.

I am also hooked on her Face Wash, Face Lotion and Face Cream. Doctor Rogers Restore Face Wash is a glycerin-based, fragrance-free cleanser with only eight hypoallergenic, plant-based, biodegradable ingredients. It gently suds to remove makeup and oil without irritating and is safe to use on all types of skin, especially for very sensitive skin. It washes away all traces of barn dirt, sweat and makeup (even heavy thick eye liner and mascara), leaving my skin soft and clean.

Full of clean, plant-based ingredients, Restore Face Lotion was sustainably formulated to revive dull, dry or irritated skin and maintain beautifully healthy skin. I use it every morning all over my face and then add my eye cream and sunscreen. It provides lightweight moisture that keeps my skin soft (never oily) all day. The Restore Face Cream is the thicker version of the Restore Face Lotion and I use it at night after I apply Vintner’s Daughter Essence and Serum. I wake up in the morning with insanely soft skin and I have been known to slather some of this on my dry hands.

Since this is primarily a horse blog, we can’t forget beauty products for them too. I have been a big fan of E3 Elite Equine Evolution products for awhile and always re-order their Detangler Spray, Argan Oil Shampoo and Hair Growth Shampoo when I run out. I actually hoard and stockpile the Dentagler Spray because it is that good and I can’t be without it. E3 Elite Equine Evolution’s claim to fame is that they use nanotechnology that manipulates molecules to shrink them into microscopic droplets that are easily absorbed by the horse’s skin and coat for maximum effect.

It is so windy here in Oklahoma and my horses manes and tails are always tangly when they come in from turnout and just a few spritzes of this non-oily spray allows my brush to easily glide thru eliminating knots leaving a soft, tangle free tail. It also helps prevent hair damage from UV rays.

The Argan Oil Shampoo is a favorite of everyone in the barn because it smells so good and leaves their manes, tails and coats soft and shiny.
