Product Review: Professional Choice 2XCool Sports Medicine Boots
I am a big fan of all Professional Choice products and was super excited when they announced their new product, the 2XCool Sports Medicine Boots. My horse Dreamer has an old suspensory injury on his back leg and our vet has always told us that keeping it cool is the key to keeping him from pulling it. So we run cold water or use ice boots after each ride and are hesitant to have him wear boots while being worked or ridden in case they trap the heat. But with Professional Choice’s newest boots he can benefit from the support of Sports Medicine Boots without trapping in too much heat.
Love the charcoal color, looks sharp and more interesting than traditional black.
How do they work? What makes them so special?
This neoprene-free boot is constructed with ultra-lightweight, super-breathable materials that provide the support and 4-way stretch Professional’s Choice boots are known for. The first thing I noticed about them is that they felt instantly cool to the touch as well as super lightweight with a bit of stretch. They went on super easy with a great fit, similar to my other SMB boots. After our ride I noticed that his legs were not as sweaty as they normally are when I remove his older SMB boots so the material did wick away moisture and keep his legs drier. His legs also felt cooler to the touch than with previous SMB boots. The interior material of the boots were damp with sweat but still felt very cold to the touch. I think these boots will be great to use during the hot summer months or if your horse has any old injuries like Dreamer and needs to keep his legs and tendons cool while working. If only Dreamer could talk and tell me what he thinks about them!
