Get A Grip
For some reason my western saddle slips to the left side when I am riding. I have had my horse checked for any signs of lameness (he is fine) and also checked to make sure the saddle fits him properly (it does). The next step is to take it to the saddle manufacturer to look at when they are here in OKC for the NRHA Futurity, but in the meantime I still need to ride in it without having to constantly straighten it. That’s where Weaver’s GettaGrip Saddle Pad comes in. I ordered it on a whim from Amazon before the Redbud Spectacular Horse Show, not really thinking it would work but desperate to try something.
I was pleasantly surprised that it worked amazingly well. My saddle stayed perfectly in place thru multiple long rides and showing. It is made from a closed cell foam, tacky neoprene that eliminates pad slippage. It fits perfectly under my saddle and was just the right size to cover with my show saddle pad too. The neoprene is easy to clean and dries very quickly. If you have a slippy saddle or just want a more snug fit with your saddle definitely consider adding one to your saddle pad collection. You can get the Weaver GettaGrip Saddle Pad from Weaver or Amazon.
