Beauty and The Beast: Farmhouse Fresh
I am so excited to share this amazing beauty company with you because I love everything about them! This post will be more beauty since they only make products for humans but the beast comes into play because they run a farm and animal rescue that is funded by the sale of their goods. FarmHouse Fresh crafts a wide variety of skin care products in the US using potent, botanical, natural ingredients (many of which are grown on their Texas farm). They never use parabens, sulfates and mineral oil and all the fragrances are natural and free from phthalates. FarmHouse Fresh harnesses the power of nature to create products that actually work, are good for you and the environment and give back to animals in need.
They offer a full slate of items for your face and body including buzzy ingredients that run the gamut from serums to moisturizers to exfoliators to masks to oils and everything in between. They even have a great feature that allows you to purchase a “Pick Your Own” mini set of 3 items. It’s an easy way to trial run so many of their products. I used the “Pick Your Own” to try a wide variety of face and body products and then purchased a mask set as well as full-size versions of a few items. They also sent a ton of samples with my order. Let’s get it to it, here are a few of my favorites:
Timescape Micromazing 2-Minute Renewing Face Polish: If you want instant, glowing skin this is the product for you. It combines thousands of plant-based fibers with caffeic acid from organic cucumbers and sunflower oil to gently exfoliate your face back to glowy, baby soft, perfection. I have used it twice a week for a few weeks and my skin is smoother and brighter.
Flat Out Firm Hyaluronic Acid Peptide Firming Serum: This lightweight gel-formula is the fast absorbing first layer that your skin needs if you are battling a few wrinkles here and there (ahem, my forehead). It contains four distinct hyaluronic acids that instantly provide targeted hydration to skin's inner layers and all the way up to the surface, boosting the moisture barrier. It then adds in Provitamin B5, Firming Peptides, Vitamin C, Cucumber Extract and Organic Rose Hydrosol to create a wrinkle fighting superhero. I have been using this day and night consistently for two weeks and I have already noticed my forehead wrinkles disappearing.
Lustre Rose Serum-In-Oil: First of all this serum smells amazing and seriously boots hydration with Organic Rose Hydrosol, Vitamins C & E, Hyaluronic Acid, Seaberry Oil and FarmHouse-Fresh Grown Cucumber Extract. It makes my skin look plump, bouncy, brightened and awake (not easy to accomplish in the winter). I just dab a little on after the Flat Out Serum and before adding my favorite cream moisturizer. And Jennifer Lopez treated her wedding guests to facials using only FarmHouse Fresh products and apparently this serum was a favorite.
Splendid Dirt Pumpkin Mask: The first things I noticed about this face mask is that it smells exactly like pumpkin pie and it’s texture is velvety and fluffy. This nutrient mud mask banishes dry, blotchy skin and deeply cleans pores drawing out toxins and minimizing their appearance with the help of bentonite and illite clays. Pumpkin puree is used because it is high in antioxidants, vitamin A, C and E and beta carotene which replenish and protect the skin’s moisture barrier. This has been go-to mask to get my face clean after a dusty day in the barn and to help battle breakouts. Did I mention it smells amazing!
Honey Heel Glaze: This is the product that put FarmHouse Fresh on the map when Oprah chose it as one of her favorite things. And it is honestly so, so good. This Honey Heel Glaze is an instant pedicure leaving behind super soft feet banishing dryness, roughness, cracks and ashiness. This clove and cinnamon scented treatment uses honey (I have posted about all the benefits of honey here), aloe vera, rice bran oil, live papaya and pineapple cells and vitamins E, C, B5 to achieve and maintain long term softness. I use this once a week on my feet and my hands and have really noticed a difference in how soft my skin is as well as noticing less cracks and dryness.
Honey Lavender Sea Salt Scrub: I absolutely love the smell of this scrub and it’s honey/vanilla, lavender scent gently lingers throughout that day. Other than smelling amazing it also leaves my skin unbelievably soft. I use it all over but really concentrate using it on my heels after using the Honey Heel Glaze and my skin and feet have never been softer. It uses Rice Bran Oil, Natural Sea Salt and Vitamin E to remove dead skin cells and nourish your skin. My husband was a fan of the Triple Shot Caramel Coffee Shea Sugar Scrub and used the whole tub before I could try it!
As mentioned before FarmHouse Fresh also runs an animal rescue and one of the things I really love is that you can track your batch and see the animals it helped rescue. Each product has a batch code printed on the bottom and you can enter that code on their website and see who your purchase helped save. For example my purchase of Flat Out Firm Serum provided funds to help Willow a giant draft horse who after dragging tractors for 5 years was dumped at a sale with badly damaged tendons, an infection and pastern bones dropped nearly horizontal.
